John Moyer
1st Place - Boy Division
Hi, I’m John Moyer, I’m the 2024 Carsen Perry Legacy Fund (Boys) Winner. I’ve grown up around bucking cattle my entire life and I love every bit of it. Ever since I was little all I’ve ever wanted is it raise bucking bulls and ranch. My family has had bucking stock since the 1990s and we started to really focus our program on dummy calves in 2010. I got to flank my first dummy bull myself in 2021, his name was 912 Great White Shark. We had a pretty successful season in the Junior Futurities. I was beyond blessed that I had the opportunity to showcase myself and my program at the 2024 CP Legacy interviews. It was such a blessed to get to stand alongside many other great junior stock contractors. I think that this is an amazing chance for young breeders that they should seize the opportunity. It feels like a dream come true, looking back I still can’t believe that I won. It just shows that it takes a little hard work, some determination, and a passion for your industry. I’ve invested the money I won into quite a few upgrades for my program. These include a Skid Steer along with a Tree Saw, I partnered on another set of Dodge heifers and a 2 yr old bull from Cody May with my family, along with attending Flying Cow Genetics AI school and receiving my AI certification. I have also invested in our AI Program buying an AI kit, some straws, and other supplies to set up my first set of heifers this year to AI.

Vincent Maldonado
2nd place - Boy Division
My Name is Vincente Maldonado I’m a proud stock contractor with 6-C Bucking Bulls, and I was honored to earn 2nd place in the Carsen Perry Memorial Scholarship Fund. I feel truly blessed to receive this recognition—not just for the scholarship itself, but for what it represents. Carsen often talked to me about building a future in the bull industry, and thanks to this scholarship, I’ve taken my first steps toward that dream. With the support of Justin Cox, I was able to purchase three heifers at the Big Schott Rodeo Yearling Sale. I also have invested in caring for those heifers and my new junior calf, 26L Johnny Manziel. I’m incredibly grateful to continue doing what Carsen loved so much. His legacy means a lot to me, and it’s an honor to carry it forward. I have a strong support system and a close bond with his family, and I’m especially thankful for the guidance and encouragement from Justin Cox and Jody Schott Thank you all for believing in me and helping me. My relationship with my bulls goes far beyond the arena; it’s about recognizing their true value and the purpose they serve. I’ve always prayed that the world could see how valuable and worthwhile this animals sincerely are. Winning this scholarship has helped me see beyond the basics of being a stock contractor.
